MARY KAY
Mary Kay was founded in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash, and has since become probably the premier skin care and cosmetics MLM company for women. Today the company does over 2.5 billion in annual retail sales with a million distributors, and contributes to research and development for many women's diseases and other causes. They are in over 30 countries around the world, with a very strong presence in North America and Europe.
There seem to be many satisfied independent distributors within the Mary Kay system, and the company seems to have endeared itself to stay at home moms and other women in the work force that wish they could become stay at home moms or get paid what they're worth. The system is very basic and simple to learn, and there is a great deal of support and training provided along the way. The skin care and cosmetics industry is big, and all women will buy these products regardless of income! Distributors can sell lots of products to customers, and not just other ladies in their downline. The Mary Kay business seems to be a very good opportunity for women to succeed in a traditional network marketing business. The company provides the symbolic "pink Cadillac" to top distributors as an incentive bonus.
One of the drawbacks with the business is that is only appeals to women, and that a husband-wife team that wanted to start something together would not choose a skin care / cosmetics business such as this. Even though the CEO is now a man, it does not sit well with a man's masculinity to be going around selling cosmetics! There are many other much better opportunities that exist for a husband-wife team. However, for a single woman or a married woman wanting to start a business by herself that she can succeed at, the Mary Kay system is a very good opportunity.
However, Mary Kay also uses a traditional network marketing method with meetings, prospecting, phone calls, and further almost mandatory advanced training, and if you decide to give this business a try you WILL experience lots of disappointment, frustration, and rejection along the way. This is almost a guarantee with traditional network marketing, and most people are unprepared for the rigors involved and eventually drop out. There really IS a much better way…
I've researched many different MLM business opportunities, but by far the best one I recommend is the link below. Click to find out why…
